About the Role
We’re looking for a proactive and detail‑oriented Associate Laboratory Technician to join our In Vitro DMPK Assay group at our Hoddesdon site. You’ll prepare buffers and solvents, weigh compounds, run automated assay scripts, and ensure accurate data transcription between systems. You’ll also play a key part in keeping the laboratory running smoothly by managing inventory, ordering consumables, logging client samples, and checking equipment performance. Every day brings variety, teamwork, and the chance to build real scientific expertise.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong A‑Level science knowledge who enjoys practical lab work, problem‑solving, and supporting high‑quality scientific analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing buffers, solvents and other liquid stocks according to protocols.
- Weighing solid compounds and reagents in preparation for analysis.
- Perform automated assay scripts and process experimental samples in preparation for analysis.
- Transcription of compound information and analytical output data, between computer systems, to enable sample analysis.
- Maintaining the laboratory inventory systems and ordering chemicals and consumables as required.
- Receiving and logging client test article shipments into the inventory system.
- Checking the performance of laboratory equipment at regular intervals to demonstrate suitability for use.
Candidate Profile
- A level in Science (Chemistry or Biology preferred) minimum B grade
- Basic, practical laboratory skills
- Good communication, organisational and time-management skills
- Enjoys working in a team
- Enjoys using own initiative and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel.
