Requirements:
 
  • A PhD or post graduate qualification in relevant science
  • Extensive CRO industry Business Development experience
  • Scientific role experience in a life science organisation
  • Pharma development and outsourcing
  • Proven leadership and performance management skills
  • Good stakeholder and strong networking skills
  • In depth knowledge of the CRO and Pharmaceutical market and environment
  • Strategic thinker, customer focused and result oriented
 
 
Key roles and responsibilities:
 
  • Identify potential clients for integrated clinical programmes through market research and by working with European Business Development Team.
  • Achieve agreed sales and profit budgets/targets.
  • Develop plans to support delivery of the order targets with the Business Development Team.
  • Identify, cultivate, manage and maintain professional relationships with clients that match the segment profile of target Pharmaron customers. Qualify and generate new sales leads and opportunities, managing opportunities from point of inquiry to closing of sale.
  • Be familiar with areas of work and focus undertaken by other Business Development personnel such that “cross selling” opportunities can be captured for the business.
  • Remain up to date with market environment trends and developments, monitoring competitor and client activity, communicating that information within Pharmaron and formulating such information into effective strategies upon which Pharmaron can capitalise.
  • Working collaboratively with operational scientific managers and other colleagues, develop, prepare and modify proposals (enquiry to order) to reflect both clients’ requirements and service delivery costs, such that well-prepared proposals are developed to maximise opportunities to win business.
  • Review of commercial documents such as confidentiality agreements, CDA’s to ensure that appropriate commercial processes, terms and conditions are followed to protect and maximise the business.
