EHS Advisor – 12 Month Fixed Term Contract

We are seeking an experienced professional EHS Advisor to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract to provide expert advice on the effectiveness of our safety policies, procedures, and practices. This role will focus on ensuring our company premises and activities meet the highest safety standards, driving continuous improvement and compliance across all operations.

Requirements:
  • Science based Degree or equivalent
  • NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety
  • Full clean driving license
  • Experience of working in a chemical laboratory safety role
  • Risk assessment and accident investigation experience
  • Knowledge of EcoOnline EHS Platform and Astute e-Learning would be advantageous

Key roles and responsibilities:   
  • Provide active guidance, support and direction to employees in EHS programs to ensure a common and effective approach.  
  • Maintain awareness of changes to UK EHS Legislation and guidance, site operational permits and licensing so that Site Management are aware on relevance and implementation for the site.
  • Advise management of their responsibility in accident prevention and avoidance of health hazards.
  • Advise and assist management and supervisors and conduct EHS inspections and safety audits.
  • Address issues of risk, carrying out meaningful risk assessments as required and providing practical and effective mitigation recommendations to address identified risks.
  • Foster awareness and enthusiasm for high standards of EHS compliance by regularly organising safety meetings with relevant stakeholders. 
  • Maintain, and update information on the Safety Concerns recording tool and Incident Tracker ensuring that appropriate responses to incidences are made, monitored and recorded.
  • Maintain the accident book system and records.
  • Ensure accurate recording and reporting of incidents, meeting minutes and follow-ups such that efficient retrieval of the same can be effected subsequently.
  • Ensure that documents relating to safety are maintained in a current status.
  • Assist with and support the EHS Specialist Role.
  • Ensure that all work carried out is compliant with all regulations, company policies and the sites ISO standards.
  • Model the Pharmaron behaviours applicable to this role.
