EHS Coordinator

Job Introduction

 

We are looking for:
An EHS Coordinator to support the site in maintaining compliance with all applicable UK EHS legislation, guidance documents, company policies and permits.  
Coordinate the maintenance and development of the site’s EHS strategy and promote a collaborative EHS culture. 
Support the Snr EHS Manager in establishing and delivering clear EHS priorities and goals, minimizing risks to the business and protecting employees, visitors, contractors, clients and others from injury or harm.  
Actively engage with all departments and site functions to provide balanced, timely and proportionate EHS guidance in order to achieve high levels of employee engagement in the site’s EHS programs.

Requirements:
 
  • Degree in Science and related subjects
  • NEBOSH Certificate
  • NEBOSH Environmental Certificate
  • Experience with tracking compliance metrics, data interpretation, management and presentation using IT software and cloud-based systems
  • Experience writing documents with input from a variety of stakeholders
  • Hands on experience in a manufacturing/production role
  • Experience conducting and reporting on EHS audits
  • Experience in Fire Safety Management and Occupational Health
  • Working within a GMP/regulated environment
  • Understanding of UK EHS compliance requirements and practices in a manufacturing/laboratory environment
 
 
Key roles and responsibilities:
 
  • Supporting the Snr EHS Manager: Promote a common and effective approach to the implementation of EHS across the site, through the provision of active guidance, support, training and direction to Departments and EHS satellite teams, employees and contractors.  
  • Supporting the Snr EHS Manager: Maintain awareness of, and communicate the potential impact on the site, of changes to UK EHS Legislation and guidance, site operational permits and licensing
  • Supporting the Departments in achieving EHS goals & objectives.
  • Supporting the Snr EHS Manager: Provide general EHS support across the site and input to process safety assessments, such as HAZOP, Permitting, COSHH/DSEAR and CDM requirements.
  • Supporting the Snr EHS Manager: Produce EHS plans, procedures, associated documentation, inspect and audit compliance.
  • Supporting the Snr EHS Manager: Identify areas for continuous improvement in systems, processes and operations to proactively enhance compliance standards, working with department leaders / EHS satellite team representatives to implement corrective actions and improvement plans.
  • Actively seek to elevate standards and awareness of EHS through UK communication, X-Site meetings, cross site collaboration, promotion of best practice and learning through experience
  • Supporting the Snr EHS Manager: To maintain and develop the ISO certified EHS management systems
  • Supporting the EHS manager: Undertake incident investigations and track corrective and preventative actions to completion.
  • Supporting the Snr EHS Manager: Develop and maintain the site’s sustainability initiatives and programs.
  • Develop personal EHS qualifications aligned to the role and actively develop knowledge and skills, and pragmatically apply this knowledge in order to ensure best practice is maintained in EHS.
  • Ensure familiarity and compliance across the site, with all company/site policies, procedures, pertinent legislation and SOPs.  
  • The role requires meticulous attention to detail and for all work to be conducted strictly in accordance with company Policies and Procedures and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Work efficiently and effectively such that work is well planned, organized way and conducted in a timely manner.
  • Follow all EHS requirements that are defined on work instructions or communicated in training.
  • Ensure that any operating practice or instrument defect, which may affect EHS at work, is brought to the attention of Management.
  • Respect the confidentiality of information obtained in the course of duties performed and refrain from disclosing such information without written consent from Management, except where disclosure is required by law or by the order of a Court.
  • Undertake projects or duties as requested by the Management and to support the Management in ensuring the best performance of the business.
  • In addition to the above tasks, other activities and responsibilities may be individually defined.
