- Lead the control of the financial accounting processes under IFRS during monthly close and year-end.
- Use knowledge/experience in order to maintain the ERP/Accounting system(s).
- Help to direct team resources during relevant activities and in particular during month end.
- Day-to-day Financial Accounting lead under IFRS for the business.
- Provide support and expertise to the Senior Finance Director and Financial Controller regarding all aspects of financial accounting.
- Provide technical accounting guidance and direction to other members of the UK Finance team.
- Month end tasks including but not limited to intercompany reconciliation.
- Actively assist and support the auditing process through the location and provision of accounts, supporting schedules and other documents and files as required.
- Assist with annual budgeting.
- Revenue recognition review. Accrued/deferred income review.
- Review VAT reporting.
- Prepare the RDEC calculation.
- Corporation tax compliance.
- Provide support for cash-flow forecasting when required.
- Provide ad-hoc financial information to operational management when required.
- Work in Progress accounting in software and Excel based reporting.
- Capital investment - commitments tracking and review.
- Review the maintenance of the Fixed asset register, accurately recording depreciation actual and forecast.
- The job holder will be required to operate Access Dimensions and Focal Point for which proficiency is required or can be attained quickly.
- The job holder is required to have a thorough knowledge of IFRS.
- Knowledge of VAT including overseas trade is preferred.
- The job holder is required to work with and support the other members of the Finance team including those based at other sites.
- The role requires meticulous attention to detail and for all work to be conducted strictly in accordance with company Policies and Procedures and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Work efficiently as such that work is carried out in a well-planned and organised way and timely manner.
- Follow all Health, Safety and Environmental requirements that are defined on work instructions or communicated in training.
- Responsible to maintain own training file.
- Ensure that any operating practice or instrument defect, which may affect safety at work, is brought to the attention of Management.
- Respect the confidentiality of information obtained in the course of duties performed and refrain from disclosing such information without written consent from Management, except where disclosure is required by law or by the order of a Court.
