Position: Imaging Research Scientist
Location: Rushden, Northamptonshire

We are looking for:
An Imaging Research Scientist to support a wide range of laboratory-based activities within Metabolism (ADME) studies, including QWBA and imaging‑based investigations, contributing to new product development in line with global regulatory requirements

Key roles and responsibilities:
Laboratory & Technical Activities
- Perform the full range of Laboratory Technician duties at an advanced level.
- Conduct established analytical procedures and routine lab tasks.
- Prepare samples for quantification, chromatography, and other analytical methods.
- Support colleagues as required, ensuring smooth laboratory operations.
- Assist in developing new analytical methods or study types.
- Execute complex technical procedures including:
- Dose preparation and assessment
- Dose administration/application
- HPLC setup and analysis
Study Supervision
- Act as Study Supervisor on assigned studies, ensuring timely and high‑quality delivery.
- Prepare dose theory calculations.
- Oversee and support Laboratory Technicians working on the study.
- Calculate data, perform QC checks, and prepare documentation for Study Director review.
- Create experimental worksheets and compile QRA data.
- Prepare study progress updates and data summaries for clients and technical reports.
QWBA / Imaging Responsibilities
- Carry out all experimental components of QWBA studies, including:
- Sample preparation
- Tissue sectioning
- Section exposure
- Plate scanning
- Image preparation
- Quantitative image analysis
General Responsibilities
- Adhere to Health & Safety legislation and report any potential hazards.
- Comply with GLP, GCP, and GMP where required.
- Follow all Standard Operating Procedures and study plans.
- Maintain an up‑to‑date Personal Training File.
- Maintain confidentiality of all work and records.
- Accurately log all work in the timesheet system.
Requirements:
- BSc or MSc in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences, or a related discipline.
- Prior experience in an analytical, biochemistry, metabolism, or similar laboratory environment.
- Experience working to GLP standards.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Good organisational and time‑management skills.
- Competence in a range of laboratory techniques; imaging/QWBA experience is highly desirable.
