We are looking for:
We have a new opening for an Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our Engineering team at our Hoddesdon site. You will be joining an experienced team supporting a large, complex site of laboratories, offices, warehouses, GMP manufacturing facilities and more.

Key roles and responsibilities:
  • Efficiently conduct corrective and preventative instrumentation maintenance activities originating form work generated by (but not exclusively to) the Computer Maintenance Management system.
  • Respond to emergency breakdowns.
  • Ensure that preventative maintenance schedules are completed on time.
  • Proactively identify maintenance plan improvements of omissions, working with the Engineering Workshop Supervisor to ensure all maintenance PM plans remain relevant, are technically correct and compliant.
  • Ensure all documentation of maintenance activities are to GxP standards both in paper-based records and the Computer Maintenance Management System and that accurate reports are generated.
  • Work on small projects where required, including design/installation and commissioning or minor systems (new or alterations).
  • Constantly seek new, innovate and cost advantageous methods of completing the work without compromising safety or quality.
  • Ensure a sufficient stock of materials, equipment and parts are maintained to carry out requisite work. Identify low stocks so restocking can be undertaken.
  • Ensure that all work is carried out to the highest standards of safety and be proactive in addressing potential issues of hazard and risk and reporting such issues to management for prompt action.
  • Liaise with all people that might be impacted by the work, affording them the opportunity where possible, to minimize disruptions and keeping them informed of progress and expectation completion targets.
Requirements:
  • Formal Electrical Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent
  • Post apprenticeship / qualification experiences working as an electrical technician in a similar environment
  • City and Guilds accredited or equivalent recognised formal qualification in a secondary engineering discipline is desirable
  • Broad based knowledge and interest in engineered systems and maintenance
  • Understanding of GxP principals, and working in clean room environments.
  • Troubleshooting and problem solving skills
  • Good documentation, record keeping and ability to produce succinct reports
  • Good interpersonal skills and customer focused
  • Extremely safety conscious
  • Helpful and responsive and committed to delivering the very best
  • Team playing whilst proactive and a self-starter
Desirable Requirements:
  • Knowledge and experience with GMP manufacturing equipment: Tablet/capsule compression machines, Fluid bed dryers, Micronisers and spray coaters is beneficial
  • Recognised formal qualification in secondary engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
