Project Manager - Drug Product Development

To manage a portfolio of Client drug product development projects, ensuring on-time, to budget completion of services to pharmaceutical Clients.

Requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent and in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Science, or Chemistry related discipline
  • Project Management Professional (PMP); Prince II or equivalent
  • Evidence of at least 5 years industrial experience in pharmaceutical drug product development in GMP environment including evidence of project management in applicable role
  •  Evidence of ability to effectively contribute to multi-disciplinary scientific teams
  • Evidence of managing 3rd party Client relationships
  • Pharmaceutical drug product development knowledge 
  • Sound knowledge of regulatory and cGMP requirements pertaining to drug product
  • Effective written, oral communication and presentation skills
  • Cross functional project management
  • Effective organizational, planning and time management skills
  • Creative problem solver and positive "can do" attitude 

Key roles and responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of drug product Client projects, from award through to completion of delivery. 
  • Represent Pharmaron to Clients, acting as main point contact for all Client requests and communication on assigned projects.  
  • Represent Client within Pharmaron, advocating Client’s best interests in negotiating and balancing project priorities within the organisation. 
  • Builds effective Client relationships, instilling Client confidence in Pharmaron’s Client and technical services. Drives internal project team to achieve and/or exceed client expectations
  • Translate Client project requirements into proposals where required. Co-ordinate refinement of project scope and timeline, teaming with operational functions and business development to ensure expectations are accurately presented. Supports proposal negotiation process. 
  • Leads all project team discussions, chairing meetings and managing action follow up and decision logs. Identifies risks and works to implements mitigations and contingencies to ensure on-time and to budget delivery of project milestones. 
  • Creates and maintains overall project plan, co-ordinating inputs from Client and functional departments to ensure effective execution. 
  • Manage project revenue forecasting and invoice scheduling. 
  • Manages Project Change amendments ensure timely approval by Client in line with project delivery expectations. 
  • Manages project priority decision making processes.  Escalates issues as required. 
  • Proactively seeks out new business opportunities from assigned clients, partnering with business development to capture any new opportunity.

Pharmaron acquired the Hoddesdon campus, consisting of several purpose built scientific and administrative buildings together with a purpose built conference area in February 2017. The research building has more than 5,000m2 of premier R&D space and houses an established Process Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry and Drug Discovery teams. In addition, a Formulation Development team was also recently established. The Hoddesdon site has state-of-the-art Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standard facilities for the development of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API), Formulation Development (FD) and Process Chemistry (PC).
