About the Role

We are looking for a proactive and detail-focused QA and EHS Advisor to join our Compliance team in Cardiff.

This is a varied role combining Quality Assurance with practical Environmental, Health and Safety support. Approximately 70 to 80% of the position will focus on QA activities, particularly internal auditing and document control, with the remaining time supporting site-specific environmental and radiological monitoring.

You will work with teams across the Cardiff site, carrying out internal audits, supporting quality systems and helping maintain environmental and regulatory compliance. Full training will be provided for the specialist EHS activities, but previous internal-auditing experience is essential.

Key responsibilities:

  • Plan, conduct and report internal audits against applicable standards, procedures and site requirements.
  • Support document control, CAPA, change control and continuous-improvement activities.
  • Assist with supplier reviews, client due diligence and third-party audits.
  • Support the ongoing operation and certification of the site’s management systems.
  • Carry out environmental and radiological monitoring, including gaseous-effluent analysis and dosimetry-support activities.
  • Assist with the calibration and function checking of monitoring equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure activities comply with company procedures, legislation and site ISO standards.
  • Work collaboratively across the site, raising potential compliance issues and recommending practical improvements.

About you

You will have:

  • One to two years’ internal-auditing experience within a quality, compliance, scientific, manufacturing or similarly structured environment.
  • Experience or working knowledge of ISO 9001.
  • An understanding of document control and quality-management processes.
  • The ability to plan audits, gather evidence, document findings and prepare reports.
  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach.
  • Good organisational, communication and time-management skills.
  • The confidence to communicate findings constructively and influence colleagues at different levels.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • A-level qualifications or equivalent experience, ideally including English, Mathematics and a science subject.

Experience of ISO 14001 or ISO 45001, laboratory environments or multidisciplinary QEHS work would be advantageous. A relevant scientific degree is desirable but not essential.

Practical Requirements

This is a fully site-based position. The role requires a flexible approach and includes working across the Cardiff facility, occasional outdoor activities, wearing respiratory protective equipment and some manual handling, including moving equipment or materials weighing up to approximately 20 kg.

Why Pharmaron?

This is an opportunity to join a small, supportive Compliance team in a genuinely varied role. You will work across the whole Cardiff site and broaden your experience in internal auditing, document control, quality systems, environmental monitoring and EHS compliance.

As your experience develops, there may also be opportunities to support supplier and duty-of-care audits. It is an ideal role for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in maintaining high standards and wants to develop across both QA and EHS.
