About the Role

 
We are recruiting for a Research Scientist to join our ADME team based at our Rushden site. In this role you will  perform a broad range of laboratory-based tasks on Metabolism(ADME) studies for new product development based on global regulatory requirements.
 
Key roles and responsibilities:
  • Perform the roles and responsibilities of a Laboratory Technician, demonstrating higher level of competence, to include: 
    • Perform established analytical procedures o General laboratory tasks 
    • Support other members of staff in their work as appropriate or as directed by Management 
  • Prepare samples for quantification, chromatography or other analysis.  
  • Assist in the development of new analytical procedures/study types. 
  • Perform more complex experimental techniques e.g. dose preparation and assessment, dose administration/application, HPLC set up and analysis, as required. 
  • Act as a Study Supervisor on assigned studies, ensuring tasks are completed in a timely manner to an agreed level of quality, to include:
    • Prepare dose theory calculations o Supervise Laboratory Technicians on assigned study 
    • Calculate and QC check data for review by relevant Study Director 
    • Prepare experimental worksheets o QRA data completion (check for repeat analysis as appropriate)  Prepare study updates and study data for communication to the client and inclusion into reports.
Requirements:
  • BSc (Hons) or MSc in Chemistry, Biochemistry , Biomedical Sciences or related subject
  • Previous experience of working in an analytical, biochemistry or similar laboratory
  • Experience of working to GLP
  • Good written and verbal communication skills 
  • Organisational skills 
  • Proficiency in laboratory techniques
