Requirements:
- A minimum of a MSc in Chemistry with a minimum of 2:1 qualification.
- Ability to effectively contribute to multi-disciplinary scientific teams.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Team player.
- Experience is not a prerequisite, but typically up to 2 years prior academic or industrial laboratory exposure is helpful.
Key roles and responsibilities:
Your role will be primarily in designing and developing novel synthetic routes to pharmaceutical APIs in the laboratory and implementing the processes at kilogram-scale in our state-of-the-art pilot plant facility. The successful candidates will have responsibilities for:
- Contributing to the chemistry project by performing experiments and interpreting the results.
- Maintaining clear and accurate records of experiments in laboratory notebooks in accordance with company policy.
- Working as part of the project team to ensure delivery timelines and API quality.
- Learning expertise in core laboratory skills required to support development and scale up of chemical processes.
- Complying with all safety and GMP guidelines.

Pharmaron acquired the Hoddesdon campus, consisting of several purpose built scientific and administrative buildings together with a purpose built conference area in February 2017. The research building has more than 5,000m2 of premier R&D space and houses an established Process Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry and Drug Discovery teams. In addition, a Formulation Development team was also recently established. The Hoddesdon site has state-of-the-art Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standard facilities for the development of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API), Formulation Development (FD) and Process Chemistry (PC).
