Ningbo, China (Onsite – Relocation Supported)

Pharmaron is a leading global CRO delivering integrated solutions across drug discovery, preclinical development, and manufacturing. With a strong international footprint and continued growth, we are expanding our preclinical leadership team in China.

We are seeking an experienced Toxicology Leader (Director to VP level) to drive scientific excellence, operational delivery, and strategic growth of our toxicology function in Ningbo.

This is a senior leadership role offering the opportunity to shape toxicology strategy within a fully integrated CRO environment, supporting global regulatory programmes and working closely with international clients.

The Role

As Head of Toxicology, you will:

  • Provide scientific and operational leadership across toxicology programmes
  • Oversee preclinical safety studies supporting regulatory submissions (IND/CTA)
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team of Study Directors and scientists
  • Ensure delivery of studies on time, to quality standards, and in full GLP compliance
  • Act as a senior scientific partner to clients, contributing to study design and strategy
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with BD, DMPK, Bioanalysis, and wider preclinical teams
  • Support business development activities, including proposals and client discussions

Your Profile

  • PhD (preferred) or MSc in Toxicology, Pharmacology, Medicine, or related field
  • Extensive experience in preclinical toxicology, including biologics
  • Strong track record working within GLP environments
  • Proven leadership and team management capability
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to influence both science and business direction
  • Excellent communication skills, with fluent English required

Location & Mobility

This role is based onsite in Ningbo, China.
