SENIOR RESEARCH SCIENTIST- In vitro and In vivo ADME

We are looking for:
Are you a Scientist with an interest in Drug Metabolism? We have a fantastic opportunity for a Scientist to join our multidisciplinary radiolabelled ADME team at our Rushden site, which is our Metabolism Centre of Excellence.

You would work on a wide range of studies to investigate the absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion properties of drug candidates. Experience of cell culture and other in vitro techniques would be an advantage.

Key roles and responsibilities:
  • Perform the roles and responsibilities of a Research Scientist, taking responsibility for the supervision and completion of more complex/new studies and a greater number of studies. 
  • Take on wider departmental responsibilities, to include: equipment validation, software validation and management; SOP ownership. 
  • Prepare study plans, amendments, file notes and deviations as required. 
  • Calculate and QC check data. • Review data obtained and prepare study updates and study data for discussion internally and for communication to the client/inclusion into reports. 
  • Prepare study reports. 
  • Supervise, mentor and/or train more junior members of staff, in laboratory procedures and study conduct. 
  • Study direct appropriate projects (with mentoring from a senior colleague).
Requirements:
  • PhD, MSc or BSc (Hons) in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences or related subject
  • Previous experience of working in an analytical, biochemistry or similar laboratory 
  • Experience of performing specialist techniques 
  • Experience of working to GLP 
  • Experience of working with Radioactivity (14C /3 H)
  • Good written and verbal communication skills 
  • Organisational and prioritisation skills
  • Problem solving 
  • Proficiency in analytical techniques (HPLC/TLC/LCMS) 
  • Understanding of Metabolism studies and the drug/agrochemical development process
