- BSc (Hons) in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences or related subject
- Previous experience of working in an analytical, biochemistry or similar laboratory
- Experience of working to GLP
- Good written and verbal communication skills

- Perform the roles and responsibilities of a Research Scientist, taking responsibility for the supervision and completion of more complex/greater number of studies.
- Develop suitable sample extraction methods for the analysis of non-clinical and clinical samples, and subsequently to pool (where required) and prepare such samples for analysis.
- Take on wider departmental responsibilities, to include – equipment validation, software validation and management, SOP ownership.
- Calculate and QC check data.
- Review data obtained and prepare study updates and study data for discussion internally and for communication to the client/inclusion into reports.
- Supervise, mentor and/or train more junior members of staff, in laboratory procedures and study conduct.
- Assist in the development of new techniques.
- Other general laboratory tasks, as applicable.
- Support other members of staff in their work as appropriate or as directed by management.
