Site Operations Manager – Radiolabeled Sciences Facilities - Multi Site

Job Introduction

The Site Manager – Radiolabeled Sciences Facilities is a new role to oversee and ensure the safe, compliant and cost-effective operation for our Rushden, Cardiff and Hoddesdon based units, including the provision and delivery of Engineering & Facilities services plus the management of other site support staff.

Key Roles and Responsibilities: 
  • Lead and support the Site Operational Team’s to ensure that each facility is operated in a safe and compliant manner whilst meeting the business operational demands.
  • Oversee the leadership and management of a dynamic and professional EHS, Engineering & Facilities Teams to deliver a highly efficient and cost-effective service.
  • Drive competency and understanding of compliance with UK legislation and regulations across the site in collaboration with UK operating groups.
  • To ensure the sites can forecast, plan and budget future needs in terms of assets and capabilities to ensure sustained service delivery of the highest standard. Monitor and manage budget expenditure to ensure effective use of resources. 
  • Lead and coordinate the identification, justification and management of capital expenditure to support business growth and evolution, whilst ensuring an effective provision of services, maintenance and utilities for the site. 
  • Ensuring each site supports the Quality & EHS Audits from customers and regulatory authorities to demonstrate both cGMP and permit/license compliance and ensure any corrective actions are managed effectively and in a timely manner.
  • Ensure the site Engineering and Facilities leads manage, develop and motivate staff, ensuring the development of skill enhanced multi-functional teams, developing individuals to support succession planning and implementing effective training programmes.
  • Drive a culture of seeking continuous improvements both within the teams and from external service providers and contractors, ensuring that best practices are achieved and maintained.
  • Bring structure, processes and strategy to the supporting wider business, ensuring EHS, Engineering and Facilities teams are effectively resourced to meet both company and UK regulatory evolving requirements

Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills: 
  • Served a recognised engineering apprenticeship and achieved a formal qualification (>NVQ4, ONC/HNC equivalent) 
  • Significant engineering and operations with a very broad experience (20 years >) gained within a small to large scale process, chemical or pharmaceutical environment. As well as experience of working within a GMP or highly regulated facility would be highly desirable
  • Proven operational leadership experience and ability to network effectively with other senior management and engage at the top level of an organisation
  • Proven competency in directly leading an operational engineering role at a senior level
  • Proven experience and successful track record with the identification, justification and implementation of numerous facilities, cultural and organizational improvement projects
  • Clear understanding of and able to demonstrate compliance with UK Legislation and compliance arrangements
  • A proven ability to develop and lead improvements in team performance within operational roles and able to identify and secure the resources required to solve relevant problems and implement the improvement strategies.
  • Highly influential with engineering and business decisions, aimed at improving reliability, cost, EHS, quality and compliance areas.
