The Technical Specialist (Oral Solid Dose) will provide Oral Solid Dose and Spray Drying expertise in the implementation of new drug product manufacturing capabilities. This position will work cross-functionally with engineering and end users to lead operational expertise for building /training and operational readiness with a focus on identifying and implementing new technologies and capability investments for GMP use.
This role will further develop overall Pharmaron capabilities and enhance the reputation of Pharmaron with its scientific and commercial stakeholders.

Key roles and responsibilities:
  • Business Lead (Operations); championing end-user requirements on major capital projects, with a focus on Oral solid dose processing capabilities and facilities. Represent the business in collaboration with all support functions to support the delivery of assigned Capital investment projects on time and to budget.        
  • Provide subject matter expertise on oral solid dose & solubility enhancement capabilities (including spray drying). Define operational end-user requirements for facility/equipment layout, functionality, and GMP compliance.
  • Identify and qualify new capability investment opportunities based on market trends and overall business growth strategy. Proactively drive capability improvements that keep Pharmaron technology and capabilities current. 
  • Create business justifications for proposed new investments based on accurate quotations and foreseen business growth. Negotiate supply terms as required. Collaborate with Engineering on project planning ensuring relevant business inputs and priorities are understood and aligned.
  • Manage implementation of new capabilities, aligning with ongoing operations and qualification & validation resources. 
  • Lead programs to train staff on new capabilities. Co-ordinate training requirements based on supplier provision vs prior knowledge and ensure training gaps are effectively closed on timely basis
  • Manage Stakeholder expectations, escalating challenges to agree business solutions in timely manner.
Requirements:
  • BSc degree in science or a related field. Higher qualification in science desired.
  • Evidence of strong industrial experience and achievement with at least 10 years in an applicable role, in cGMP environment
  • Expertise with Oral Solid Dose and Spray Drying
  • Evidence of successful application of technical skill sets to resolve high complexity technical challenges.

  • Evidence of ability to effectively contribute to multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Project Management & cross-functional collaboration
  • Technical understanding of equipment and qualification processes
  • Strong process orientation and ability to drive continuous improvement.
