Requirements:
- Degree in chemical processing, pharmaceutical science or related discipline.
- Experience working within a GMP facility would be highly desirable.
- Minimum 2 years of direct experience gained within an industrial laboratory or pilot plant.
- Experience working in a high-paced environment.
- Evidence of ability to effectively contribute to multi-disciplinary scientific teams and environment.
Key roles and responsibilities:
- Set up, run and operate Oral solid dose Pilot Plant equipment and support problem-solving activities to resolve equipment/product quality issues that arise.
- Execute batch sheet instructions and record their completion to GMP standards.
- Support the scale-up, production and technical transfer of pharmaceutical products.
- Support management of plant and process areas.
- Support installation, validation, maintenance and cleaning of equipment as required.
- Ensure that documentation of processes and operations is in place and completed such that a detailed understanding of the manufacturing process is recorded and enables further improvements, where required or possible.
- Work closely with stakeholders (Quality, Analytical and Facilities) and in particular colleagues in Formulation Development department, to plan campaign tasks, edit and review supporting documentation and ensure a seamless transition into the GMP manufacturing facility.
- Input, propose and modify as appropriate, SOPs, risk assessments and training curricula.

Pharmaron acquired the Hoddesdon campus, consisting of several purpose-built scientific and administrative buildings together with a purpose-built conference area in February 2017. The research building has more than 5,000m2 of premier R&D space and houses an established Process Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry and Drug Discovery teams. In addition, a Formulation Development team was also recently established. The Hoddesdon site has state-of-the-art Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standard facilities for the development of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API), Formulation Development (FD) and Process Chemistry (PC).
