Pharmaron is excited to offer an opportunity for a Pilot Plant Technician or a Senior Pilot Plant Technician to join our dynamic team at our state-of-the-art GMP multi-purpose Pilot Plant facility. This pivotal role is essential in supporting the scale-up and manufacture of active pharmaceutical ingredients, contributing directly to the successful delivery of client projects in a fast-paced, high-quality environment.

Key roles and responsibilities:

  • Operate, maintain, and develop expertise in pilot-scale equipment (20-1000 L reactors, filters, dryers, flow, chromatography etc.) in a GMP environment.
  • Accurately follow batch documentation and SOPs for chemical manufacturing processes in a GMP environment.
  • Record process data, carry out tasks, and complete documentation in a compliant manner.
  • Meticulous preparation and cleaning of the plant and equipment to eliminate potential for contamination. 
  • Work collaboratively with process and analytical chemists, engineers, and QA teams to ensure safe and compliant operations.

Senior Pilot Plant Technician (in addition to above):

  • Exhibit mastery in the core skills required to operate/scale up chemical processes in pilot-scale equipment in a GMP environment.
  • Lead investigations/ solve facility issues of moderate complexity. 
  • Provide mentoring and training for junior staff in facility best practices.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in safety, process efficiency, and documentation.
  • Support the transfer of technology from R&D to GMP production and assist with scale-up challenges

 

Requirements:

  • MSc or BSc in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related scientific/technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience in a GMP/regulated production or laboratory / pilot plant environment is desirable (essential for the Senior role).
  • Strong awareness of health and safety in a chemical processing setting.
  • Excellent communication skills, strong team player, and a problem-solving mindset.
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to evolving priorities, including occasional weekend work.
