Purchase Ledger Accounts Assistant

Job Introduction

We are looking for:
 An Accounts Assistant to ensure supplier invoices are correctly processed to enable payment to be made on time to prevent Vendors being placed on stop and stopping production.  Assisting with the month end activities to enable timely month end reporting to Head Office.

This is a part-time position at 20 hours per week, based on site in Liverpool.

Key roles and responsibilities:

  • Responsibility for ensuring all the purchase ledger activities are carried out in-line with the company processes, including:
    • Purchase ledger invoice/credit notes approvals and processing.
    • Resolving invoice queries with staff and suppliers.
    • Reconciling vendor statements.
    • Maintenance of the Aged Creditors.
  • Maintenance of the petty cash and foreign currency in-line with the company procedure.
  • Provide cover for the processing of payments to suppliers as and when required.
  • Provide cover as and when required during the month end process, such as creating invoice accrual journals within the set deadlines.
  • Provide monthly reports to Senior Management as required.
  • Distribution of the post and ensure that all filing and general administrative is completed and support the senior members of the team with administrative tasks. 
  • Adequately perform ad hoc tasks as and when required by the senior members of the finance team.
  • Works within the Company’s Health and Safety policies and practices.
  • Any other duties, within your capabilities, which may be required from time to time.

 

 

Requirements:
 

  • Preferably with or studying towards AAT qualification or equivalent
  • Accounts, Purchase ledger, Accruals and Prepayments and Internal Controls experience will be essential. 
  • Experience with an ERP system - Business Central would be a nice to have. 
  • Excellent administration skills including Microsoft Excel and Word as well as accurate data input skills.
  • Effective communication skills with both internal and external customers.
  • Team work with the other incumbent of the role General Accounting Administrator IV.
